Women share ‘first hikes’ in the Lake District
Twenty women were supported to share a weekend and undertake their first hikes. Many of them face social isolation, financial hardship, or mental health challenges. Through hiking, team-building exercises, and mindfulness activities, they built confidence and pushed their boundaries,
Six women try side-by-side bikes in Lee Valley
A day out on adapted bicycles by six women with learning disabilities. The team went through Hackney marshes, came back near the velodrome for lunch and took an adventurous route to Victoria park in the afternoon. They were “absolutely buzzing” and hope to make it happen again.
Clare and Maya
Mum and daughter team climbed very close to the summit of Snowdon to raise money for Willen Hospice. This was a challenge that Maya decided she wanted to do in memory of her Dad who tragically passed away in 2022. -
Care experienced team hiked & climbed
A group of young people were supported to hike in Delemere Forest & attempt GoApe. One overcame a fear of heights to reach the second level of the high ropes. She was extremely proud of herself. Another was so inspired by the experience he started a new training course.
Women on Water
Women from Sunderland sailed up the Northumberland coastline over 4 days. The women have experienced either domestic or sexual abuse, homelessness or one is a care leaver. They learnt knots, navigation and boat steering skills. This trip really pushed them out of our comfort zones and forged trust and friendship
West Bowling Activity Group
WBAC arranged a 3-day adventure to Lake Windermere for seven youngsters. The team hiked up Orrest Head and Limefitt, canoed on the lake and completed a challenge at Go Ape. These youngsters are making massive efforts to improve their lives through studying and have become role models for others
Children with special needs try canoeing
Ten children from a special needs school in Wrexham tried canoeing for the first time. The school contacted us to support their kids who normally miss out on outdoor activities. They had an amazing day, built confidence and canoed across an acqueduct.
